The Otter African Trail Run is Africa’s premium mara thon distance Trail Running Event. Dubbed the Grail of Trail the event tra verse South Africa’s world-renowned five-day Otter hiking trail which is otherwise off limits to trail running. The undulating coastal trail provi des a balanced test of technical trail running drawing a competitive field from across the globe.
The Event is staged in two dep artures with two different Cut Off Times\; the Otter Challenge with an 11- hour cut-off and the Otter Race with a more demanding 9 hour cut off. The Race and The Challenge are each staged over two days with a 4 km prologue on the first day and 42km run on the 2nd day. The course alternates direct ion each year.
